Our sustainability

commitment

Pakuba Safari Lodge aims to provide guests with a unique and luxurious experience in the wilderness of Murchison Falls, bringing people back to nature while minimising the impact on the natural and cultural environment.

the Pakuba vision

As custodians of this fragile ecosystem, we have a responsibility to protect and conserve our natural environment.

CULTURAL SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Pakuba culture

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families.

Through our investment in tourism, we are committed to job creation, community development, the provision of social services and the preservation of local culture and traditions. Pakuba safari Lodge aims to introduce travellers from all over the world to the cultural diversity of Uganda. Through various important community projects and guest experiences, meaningful contacts and cultural exchanges will be initiated.

ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION

environment

We have committed to the following protocols to reduce our impact on the environment:

  • Using environmentally friendly technologies for sustainable water supply and safe disposal of solid waste and wastewater.
  • Use of solar energy as a renewable energy source to create a self-sufficient ecosystem.
  • Water is drawn from an underground well for use on the property.
  • Use of building materials that blend in with the natural environment; environmentally friendly and sustainable building materials such as sand from a river.
